Visual explanation of the dice rules
In preparation for eventually putting up the game on a crowdfunding site, here's a visual explanation of how to form and use dice pools.
Let's assume your character has chosen to invest Advancement🔗s into Light Fighting, just like this:
They learned Light Fighting, Infighter, Shield Use, Shield Bash, and Exploit Weak Spots. That is five in total, and means that the Fighting Pool🔗 is just that: Five dice. Because they are using a Longsword, they'll use d8 for that, and write all that down:
Now, let's roll the dice for an attack:
We start by quickly sorting the dice into those that show the upper half (here: 5-8) of the die's range, and those in the lower half (1-4):
The two results with the 1 are a Mishap each, the two 8s represent a Break, and the 6 is an ordinary Win.
As per the rules for Mishap🔗s, the two 1s take away Wins, starting with the highest numbers. That removes the two 8s, leaving just the 6 as the lone Win.
